Dr. Wolemonwu is a lecturer and researcher specializing in bioethics and social philosophy. He has a background in teaching philosophy at the University of Port Harcourt. Notably, in 2016, he earned the esteemed Commonwealth Scholarship, which enabled him to pursue his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield.

During his doctoral studies, Dr. Wolemonwu focused on exploring the intersection between exploitation and servility within medical research, adopting a Kantian deontological perspective. His research delved into the ethical implications of power dynamics and the potential exploitation of vulnerable individuals in the context of medical research settings.

In addition to his interest in medical research ethics, he is also keen on applying Kantian deontology and communitarian ethics to address various ethical concerns in fields like AI, gene editing, biotechnology, climate change, and environmental issues.

Dr. Wolemonwu’s dedication to professional development is evident through his completion of the Global Bioethics Summer School program organized by the Global Bioethics Initiative, USA, in 2020. Recently, he successfully finished an intensive 5-week virtual training course for ethics teachers offered by the Centre for Global Health and the Centre for Medical Ethics at the University of Oslo, Norway.

Furthermore, he has contributed to the academic field through the publication of articles in reputable journals, showcasing his commitment to advancing bioethics and social philosophy research.
