Strengthening Global Research Integrity: A Collaborative Approach

Strengthening Global Research Integrity: A Collaborative Approach

Research integrity is the cornerstone of ethical and credible scientific advancements. Recognizing the global importance of Strengthening Global Research, the African Research Integrity Network (ARIN) and the U.S. Office of Research Integrity (ORI) are joining forces to enhance research ethics, compliance, and integrity across continents.

On March 20, 2025, ARIN and ORI will host a webinar titled “Strengthening Global Research Integrity: Cooperative Pathways between ARIN and the US ORI.” This event will bring together research professionals, integrity officers, ethics committee members, and other stakeholders to discuss shared challenges, best practices, and sustainable solutions for promoting responsible conduct in research.

Why Research Integrity Matters

Scientific progress depends on trust, transparency, and adherence to ethical guidelines. Research misconduct—whether through data falsification, plagiarism, or unethical research practices—can lead to misinformation, loss of public trust, and significant setbacks in scientific advancements. Strengthening research integrity ensures that discoveries benefit society, maintain credibility, and support informed decision-making.

Key Discussion Topics

The webinar will feature insightful discussions on:

✅ Upholding Ethical Guidelines: How institutions can create and enforce research integrity policies.

✅ Capacity Building: Training researchers and ethics officers to promote responsible conduct.

✅ Cultural Context in Research: Understanding regional challenges in enforcing ethical standards.
