Sahasranshu Dash is a political economist working at the intersection of macroeconomics, normative political theory, political economy and international relations. His research investigates how macroeconomic regimes, trade and financial architectures, technological governance and foreign policy practices constitute and legitimise distributions of power, responsibility and harm, and how the weakening of justificatory practices, consent and accountability transforms political authority under conditions of inequality and democratic erosion. His work adopts a comparative, Global South–centred perspective, with particular attention to South Asia and Latin America.

Dash’s theoretical approach is informed by the normative traditions associated with John Rawls, Thomas Nagel, Hannah Arendt and Amartya Sen. Through applied ethical analysis, his work interrogates the normative foundations of institutional design and political-economic reasoning, and examines how claims of efficiency, necessity and strategic realism function to obscure moral responsibility in contemporary global governance. He is also involved in public-facing ethics advocacy in media and activist spaces, with migration, democratic transitions, nuclear disarmament and ethical trade as current preoccupations.
