About the Role
UCL School of Pharmacy and Eastman Dental Institute are seeking a postgraduate researcher or Early Career Researcher to help identify impact case studies for future national research assessment exercises, including the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
The successful candidate will map the existing and potential impacts of research at the UCL School of Pharmacy and UCL Eastman Dental Institute, including identifying ongoing impacts from REF2021 impact case studies.
About UCL Eastman Dental Institute
The UCL Eastman Dental Institute has three research departments:
- Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering
- Microbial Diseases
- Clinical Research
The Microbial Diseases Department undertakes research to reduce infection burdens and improve human health through novel antimicrobial strategies and host-microbiome interactions.
In October 2020, the institute moved to state-of-the-art facilities at the UCL Hampstead Campus, providing opportunities for direct collaboration with the UCL Divisions of Surgery, Medicine, and Infection & Immunity.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- PhD or equivalent in a biological science subject
- Prior experience in clinical trials and laboratory research
- Familiarity with NHS Health Research Authority, Research Ethics Service, and Research Ethics Committees in the UK
Salary Progression:
- Research Fellows are appointed at Grade 7 upon PhD completion.
- If the PhD is not yet awarded, the candidate will start at Grade 6B (£38,357 – £41,005 per annum).
- Upon final PhD thesis submission, the salary will be backdated to Grade 7.
