Dr Rosangela Barcaro is a professional bioethicist with a specialisation in lecturing, research and consultancy. She had worked as an Assistant librarian at the National Research Council of Italy, Genova, Italy for more 25 years. She also worked at the Catholic Theological Faculty, Munster, Germany as a Research Fellow. She was a bioethics consultant for the Institute of Marine Engineering, Genova, a public research institute of the National Research Council of Italy. She is currently a bioethics consultant at the Interdepartmental Centre for Research Ethics and Integrity (CID), Rome – National Research Council of Italy.
She has taught at many Universities in Italy. Between 2003 and 2011, she was appointed bioethics expert in the IRB Ospedale Santa Corona, Pietra Ligure, Italy, with the purpose of providing preliminary ethical evaluation before the ethical clearance of clinical research projects involving human beings. She has published copiously in many reputable journals.
