Childhood trauma linked to higher risk of endometriosis in adult women

The UPI Wednesday’s publication of a study that indicated a higher likelihood of endometriosis among women with histories of challenging childhoods reinforced a believed link between upbringing trauma and the likelihood of acquiring the ailment later in life.

According to a study of hundreds of thousands of women in Sweden, women who abused drugs as children, had a parent who was adolescent or mentally ill, had financial difficulties, or had a family member die were 20% more likely to be diagnosed with endometriosis than women who had not. (Read More)
